Southwest k-9 Academy- Students training off-leash obedience with their dog

Group Class Training

Southwest k-9 Academy- Students training off-leash obedience with their dog. How to train your dog for off-leash obedience.

Roxanne with her three-year-old Doberman Pinscher Frank. Frank and Roxanne have been practicing their obedience routine now for the last two weeks.  I am so happy with her progress and a little bit of practice goes a long way.

Janet with her three-year-old Wheaten Terrier Bobby. Janet has put her first AKC title on Bobby. I have to say she is done a wonderful job with her training.  As a professional dog trainer, teacher, and coach, there’s nothing more than this, that makes us happy to see our students take home with they have learned in class, and go home in implemented it and see great success.

What I want you to learn from this video.

If you are trying to practice off-leash obedience with your own dog. The one thing I want you to take away from this video is you must have good on-leash obedience first before your dog will work off-leash.

I always recommend to all my students to get your on-leash obedience training down first,  and then you can start working towards off-leash.

If you’re more advanced and have trained previous dogs before, then you know you could practice basic to advanced training exercises with your dog from the beginning of training.

If you’re a beginner, you should practice with your on-leash obedience first. Once you have your dog doing well with all your commands.  Then you can advance to off-leash.
