Dogs are pack animals. All dogs live in the moment. They live for today, not for tomorrow. (That’s called living in the now.) Dogs don’t think, they react. That’s why some dogs will bite you and then they will love you. Training needs to begin as soon as you bring your dog home. And then continue every day throughout the dog’s life. Dogs can be trained at any age, though, as long as we are willing to make changes.
If we have behaviors that are unacceptable in our dog, it’s up to use to make the change. Our dogs will not change their behaviors until we change ours.
So ask yourself, what do you need to change in order to have your dog’s unacceptable behavior go away. How bad do you want it? It’s up to you. Every day you wait the behavior will continue to grow. Your time to start is now. It’s your time to make a difference.
